Last Week

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything in here. It's been a busy month, that's for sure. Last week was an exciting week, until Friday.

On Saturday, April 25th we took Ryan to the zoo! He absolutely loves the zoo and all the animals. This time there was a baby giraffe there.

On Tuesday, April 28th Jeff came home from South Korea, finally! He was there on a year assignment and his year is up! We haven't seen him yet, except for the pics Elisabeth has posted on facebook, but we've talked to him a few times! It's so good to know that he is finally back in the US of A!

On Thursday, April 30th, Jessica had an appointment with her OB doctor. She was hoping that they would want an ultrasound, but they didn't, so she asked. After a little convincing, they finally agreed to the ultrasound. She was so hoping to find out the sex of this baby, which she did. It's a BOY! Jessica really wanted another baby boy! As she said, she already has everything for a boy and doesn't need anything. Ryan didn't wear out anything so she has plenty of clothes for this baby.

On Friday, May 1st, I had to have another shot in my back. The last couple have done nothing so I am really hoping this one will help. Prior to this shot, the pain had been at it's worse. I didn't have the same reaction to this shot as I had to the last few (my blood pressure would bottom out and I came close to passing out). Also, within 24 hours after the shot, I was actually pain free!! That was weird! I haven't been pain free in a LONG time. Unfortunately, that didn't last long. The pain is back, but not as bad as it had been. My doctor's goal is to avoid another surgery (yes, another) but it might come down to that. I really don't want to go through surgery but if that's what it takes to put an end to the constant pain, that just might be what has to be done. I do know that I will not agree to another fusion. That may very well be what caused the problems I have now. If I have to have surgery on my back, then I'm going to look into my options. Will see.....I go back to the doctor in a month, so if there's not an improvement, I will look into my options.

I really hate having back problems. I had to have L5-S1 fused since it ruptured. Now L3-L4 and L4-L5 are bulging quite badly.

The best news of all is that Jeff is back in the US and Jessica is going to have another baby boy!

Come on over!

I haven't been updating this as much as I have been on
Facebook. It seems, since I've been on there that I
have been in better contact with family and friends.
So, if you aren't on there yet, come on over and sign
up. You won't regret it and will probably find some-
one you had thought you'd lost touch with!

An Outing With Ryan

On March 11, 2009, I had a doctor's appointment in Charleston,
so Gary took the day off so he could go with me and Ryan. We
made a really nice day of it. After seeing the doctor, we went
and picked up lunch at McDonald's. Ryan loves Happy Meals!
We tookour lunch over to Hampton Park which is right
outside the main entrance to the Citadel. This is Gary and
Ryan enjoyig their hamburgers!

The main reason we chose to go to Hampton Park is because
they have this awesome Duck Pond. We took bread crumbs
with us so Ryan could feed the ducks! He had so much fun!
If you look carefully, you'll see that Ryan had bread crumbs in his
hair in these next two pictures!
He was having so much fun throwing crumbs out to the ducks
and other birds!
Ryan was letting Grandpa know that he wanted more
bread crumbs!
Ryan was absolutely amazed at all the birds!
After we left the duck pond (but still at the same park) we
walked over to where the Charleston Police stable
their horses.
One of the police officers told us that we could go in and see the
horses if we want. Of course, Ryan wanted to! He loves horses!
These were two that were outside and they seemed very
interested in Ryan, about as interested as Ryan was in them!

The newest addition

As previously mentioned, Jessica is expecting their second child in October. She's having a rough time of it recently. She's now 11 weeks pregnant. As of last week - at 10 weeks - she has already had 3 ultrasounds.

This is the 6 week 4 day ultrasound....

This is the 9 week 2 day ultrasound

This is the 10 week ultrasound....

Hopefully this little one will take it easy on it's mama for the rest of the pregnancy!

You can tell he's a Gabor!

Grandpa charged up the batteries in his airplane today so he
could show it to Ryan. At first, Ryan was very afraid of the
plane and wanted nothing to do with it. After a little while,
he got a bit brave and picked up the plane and handed it
to Grandpa. Then he got even braver and wanted
the remote. He had so much fun flying that plane!

Ryan and the Angel

We have a tree stump in our side yard and we have a statue of
an angel on the stump. Ryan likes to go out and sit on the stump
next to "Angel". The first three pictures were taken April 13,
2008, the last one was taken February 13, 2009. You can
see how much he's grown in those 10 months!
